CMU Tech Film Instructor Josh Meuwly Named Western Colorado Liaison for OEDIT/COFTM Film Office Extension

Grand Junction, Colorado – The Colorado Office of Film, Television and Media (COFTM), a division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), and Colorado Mesa University (CMU) are pleased to announce that Josh Meuwly, CMU Tech Technical Instructor of Digital Filmmaking, will assume the role of Grand Junction Regional Liaison that will help serve western Colorado. This exciting appointment, effective November 13, will be celebrated at the Avalon Theatre in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Meuwly, with a wealth of experience in film and media, has been selected to help develop the local media ecosystem by offering opportunities for professional development through networking events, workshops, and crew and vendor databases specific to the community. This appointment is a testament to the region’s burgeoning potential as a hub for supporting film, media, and television sector needs, fostering collaboration across universities, state, and various stakeholders.

“Regional liaisons serve as invaluable bridges, connecting the Colorado film office with local communities, resources, and diverse landscapes,” said Film Commissioner Donald Zuckerman.

Regional Film Liaisons share expertise with regional content creators, filmmakers, and media professionals through networking events, workshops, and crew and vendor databases specific to the community in order to help attract productions. These volunteer regional partners also market the diversity of Colorado’s regions and help identify local support services for the film industry.

“I am honored and thrilled to take on the role of Western Colorado Liaison for the OEDIT Film Office Extension. This is an exciting opportunity to foster the growth of the film and media industry in this region,” said Meuwly. “I look forward to collaborating with local crew, talent and production professionals to build bridges that connect our community to the wider world of cinema. Together, we’ll make western Colorado a vibrant destination for film and media production.”

The Western Colorado Film Commission launched in November and will help filmmakers navigate permitting, identify locations, connect with crew and support services.
